Since November of 2004, all of the PVC and Nylon insulated wire products manufactured by Atlas Wire, LLC have been made without intentionally adding Lead; Mercury; Cadmium; Hexavalent Chromium; Polybrominated Biphenyls; Polybrominated Diphenyl Esters; or Deca-BDE.
There may be trace amounts of Lead found in the PVC flame retardant and traces of Lead and Cadmium found on the copper as byproducts of the drawing process but the concentration percentage will be below the following, currently listed RoHS tolerated thresholds.
- Cadmium = .01% (100 PPM)
- Lead = .1% (1,000 PPM)
- Mercury = .1% (1,000 PPM)
- Hexavalent Chromium = .1% (1,000 PPM)
- Polybrominated Biphenyls = .1% (1,000 PPM)
- Polybrominated Diphenyl Esters = .1% (1,000 PPM)

The REACH directive imposes registration, notification, and communication requirements on articles that contain substances that are intended to be released and on articles that contain Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC).
