Striping, Twisting and Bonding
Spiral Stripe: The stripe, which will be a different color, is applied to the finished wire with pre-mixed vinyl ink.
Extruded Longitudinal Line Stripe: The line is applied during the extruding process where the PVC jacket of the wire is notched and a different color PVC is added. This creates a solid PVC jacket that has an extruded longitudinal line.
Twisting: A process where Atlas Wire will twist together insulated wires to the Customer’s specifications. This process can be done with either Atlas Wire’s material or the Customer’s material. Also, Atlas Wire must know the “Lay Length” of the twist, which determines the tightness of the twist. (i.e.: 12 twists per foot = a 1 inch lay, 16 twists per foot = a ¾ inch lay, etc..) CONDUCTORS: Solid, Bare Stranded, Tinned Stranded, Heavy Tinned Stranded, Topcoat, Prebond, Overcoat
Bonding: A process where PVC insulated wire is “bonded” or affixed together by the use of heat. This process can be done with either Atlas Wire’s material or the Customer’s material. CONDUCTORS: Solid, Bare Stranded, Tinned Stranded, Heavy Tinned Stranded, Topcoat, Prebond, Overcoat To place an Order, please call (847) 678-1210ATLAS Wire Corporation
